Spotlights

The sunlight vanished. One day the sun did not rise. It kept on not rising. In the darkness of the city, I took the chance to get a pen and a paper. I begun to draw the human figure under the other light, the floodlight. The colourful spotlights create light beams of great variety and intense contradictions. Lines, drawings alternate just like the rays of the electric headlights. Dazzled as I am, I strive to draw… everything lives in a dream. Even the drawings are composed from memory. Impressionism has converted the sunlight into poetic exaltation; will the floodlight ever reach that? The only difference is the distance, the other light also eliminates the vision just like when you are staring right at the sun.
